Cracking toe nail
Discussion
I have been noticing for a few months that there were white vertical lines appearing on my big toenails and didn't think much of it but lately i noticed that they are beginning to crack along the vertical lines and occasionally i feel a slight odd pain (but nothing serious, its so mild that you wont notice it)
Any idea why this happens ,its mostly on my right foot and I asked the Pharmacist at B--ts but he said just pointed me to the nail counter and i was not sure that to use, can this be due to any vitamin deficiency ?

Search on Podiatrist. Find a local one with good reviews. Make an appointment.
And make sure they are state registered. Beware - lots of ‘podiatrists/chiropodists’ say they are, despite it being a term protected by law, and often use letters after their name that are very similar to, but not identical to, the letters that show they are state registered. Anyone can say they are a podiatrist/chiropodist, but the *real* ones are state registered.ChevronB19 said:

I used an ex-NHS, then private, foot bloke back in the day after a lot of pain when walking. He was in my group of friends.Any idea why this happens ,its mostly on my right foot and I asked the Pharmacist at B--ts but he said just pointed me to the nail counter and i was not sure that to use, can this be due to any vitamin deficiency ?
He messed with my nails, painted them, cut off vast swathes of dead skin, and advised me on a shoe insert. I carried on using him for a while. After each session my feet felt 'lighter'.
From what I remember, he mentioned the vertical raised lines on toenails, and those on fingers. He suggested it might be dietary. If I remember, I took a supplement and it went away, albeit slowly.
