If you don't mind!

I'm out getting glasses and have lost the card with the far away vision strength on it. I rang the Opticians, she sent me this, but doesn't know how to interpret it!

I think close up/reading is 1.5
Long distance is 2.75 and 3.
I think...

The top prescription is the distance, with what looks like slight astigmatism in your right eye. The reading (near) prescription is just the distance with (in your case) +1.5 on each lens

It's ok, i've got it and was right.
1.5 for reading added to the other numbers top right = 2.75 and 3 for driving.

To answer your question then no, not in a pound shop tongue out

Nope, you're not right. Prescription for distance is +1.25 and +1.5 with adjustment on one eye for astigmatism. Near is the same prescription but with some magnification (+1.5 for each lens)

It's worrying that the place that tested you are unable to interpret a basic prescription.

The place you went to get your specs dispensed seem to be similarly clueless.
Did you go to the cheese shop by mistake? smile

If you had your distance specs made up with R) +2.75/-0.25 x 120 and L) +3.00 DS, then please don't drive in them because this is your reading prescription.
(You won't be able to see clearly past the end of your bonnet whilst wearing them anyway, so I imagine you won't.)

I got the right strength lenses, which is what I was after. I just need to wear them the opposite way round to what I said.
Like you say, it's impossible to put them on the wrong way round anyhow smile

Perhaps, but O/H went for her regular lens check this afternoon and had a 20 minute wait while her ophthalmologist finished with his previous patient who had put three lenses in one eye. According to O/H, after they'd been removed the woman was complaining bitterly that her prescription must be wrong for her to do it.
