Hi all

I've just been diagnosed with a blood clots and fragments and put on Apixaban.

I like books to help me understand things in life better but can't find one on this topic

Can anyone advise me on an easy to understand yet concise book please?

Thanks in advance

If you ever find one, let me know. I'll be on it for the rest of my life following a pulmonary embolism after a lung biopsy.
It's a pain in the arse. Cut yourself shaving and bleed all day. I keep asking to come off it, but because I've had one before and I've got lung cancer, I'm apparently stuck with it.

I'm on apixaban following PEs, 10mg a day. I've had numerous small cuts since and they clot up pretty much exactly as before?

Either you're lucky or I'm not, but I struggle. I have blood tests every fortnight, and have to have a huge gauze pad taped on afterwards.

I am on Rivaroxaban 20mg daily for numerous clots in my leg. Been on it since February 2022. Slowly clearing up now but previously, my calf felt like it was ripping itself apart, my lower leg was red and swollen, my toes looked like little fat sausages. Even today, I cannot get my shoes on, only open toed sandals.

I still wet shave but cuts don't seem to bleed much longer than they did before. I used to bite my tongue in my sleep quite often before I was on the medication but this hasn't happened since.

I would be happy to take them for life if they keep all that kind of mess away.

A leaflet is better than nothing, the DVT centre gave me a take away book on the drug but not the condition. I shall read your suggestion in lew of another PH coming up with a book to help us all; hopefully

OK I'm on the same medication. I've not been on a flight but I may have what my older brother experienced - Leider V mutation.

The feeling of cramp in my calf has felt like great fun. In the first two days I went mountain biking thinking I'd torn my calf....
