I'm curious how long it's taken people to test negative on an LFT following their initial positive result?

For context, I tested positive for the first time on Sunday after waking up feeling ropey (test on Sat AM was negative - seeing elderly family that day so wanted to be sure).
I'm now on day 3 and finally starting to feel more myself. However, I was meant to be flying next Mon eve which I've resigned myself to accepting won't be happening.

I have more work flights scheduled for the following 2 weeks which I'm now also wondering about based on friends and family anecdotes suggesting anything from 5 days up to 14+

Tested negative Monday 2 weeks ago
Tested positive the day after evening
Hardly any symptoms , just a slight cough and scratchy throat.
Have felt fine and better, well enough to commence gym training 2 days ago.
Still testing positive annoyingly today which is day 9 if you count the 1st Tuesday.
Speaking to those that have had it recently , 10 days seems to be about the norm. Fingers crossed for tomorrows test

On Monday evening felt like I had been hit by a Bus, tested Negative at this time. Tuesday Morning felt better after over the counter Meds but tested positive. Feels like low grade cold right now, just about every one I have spoken with that has had COVID says it takes 10 days from first poss test before that saw a Neg one. Have had the first 2 Jabs but no booster.

Well the test method isn’t reliable so it could be a few hours later really.

When I had it, took me 3 weeks to return a negative pcr, I know people who took longer.

11 days. Started testing at 9 which showed a heavier red line than at day 0!

My daughter was in this position last month. Negative test on a Saturday, positive on a Sunday. She had started to feel rough on the Friday.

She was negative on an LFT by day 6 - the follow by Saturday. Double jabbed plus boosted. The second red line on her test became progressively weaker from day 3 or 4. She had a medically administer LFT at day 15 or 16 and was negative on that (it’s the same test as a home one, but there’s no cheating with the swab).

Check the entry requirements for where you are flying. She was told that she might continue to fail a PCR for weeks. But the destination she was lined up to visit (then - the rules are more relaxed now) would accept either a negative pre departure PCR or medically administered LFT, or a positive PCR which had been taken more than ten days prior to departure. She took a PCR on day 2 and we moved her flight back a few days which was enough for her to travel and enter her destination.

Got the lurgy a few weeks ago. Felt coldy rough but tested negative. Didn't test positive until day 5. Felt fluey by then.

Started feeling better by day 7 but was still testing positive by day 12.

My manager got fed up and told me to come in despite their 2 days of negative before you are allowed back in policy.

....and todays test was negative clap so thats 10 days from positive to negative despite having the symptoms whilst initially testing negative

Wife is a couple of days behind me still testing positive with slightly worse symptoms.

11 weeks here after the first positive which was mid Dec. After the first week just did 1 each Sunday out of interest. Week 12 was finally negative so I stopped testing!

Interesting input all, definitely no rhyme or reason to timelines but seems 7-12 days is the norm.

Day 4 for me and I feel 95% back to normal.

I'm going to do a test on day 6, if that's positive then I'll have to see how robust BA's promise of providing a voucher if they're given evidence of a positive test within 2 days of flight is.

Why are you not flying next Monday? You are contagious for the first 5 days then get on with life. Monday would be your day 10 and even if you are still positive on a test no one can catch it off you so crack on surely?

I potentially still am flying, I need to make the decision based on LFT results I get between now and Sun.

However, it's not a decision that's up to me or based on if I'm actually infectious or not. The destination (and therefore airline) require a negative supervised LFT within 24 hours of departure.

I'm currently still testing positive 5 days after the initial result but it's increasingly faint and took nearly 10 mins to show on the LFT today. I'm hoping based on the chart below that I'll be negative on Sun AM:
