Qigong & tai chi
Discussion
Any love here for qigong?
I've been playing at a little qigong for the last month or so and thoroughly enjoying it, the pace suits me and first impressions are it's quite simple. That's assuming you're not the uncoordinated oaf that I am - my sense of proprioception must be bordering on dyspraxia.
Moving slowly in a controlled manner is difficult for me, but it's new to me so I'm hoping/expecting to get better with practise and repetition.
Ideally, I'd like to find a tutor/mentor/class to help/confirm I'm 'doing it right', but many seem to have taken a break due to covid and not quite back in the swing just yet. Guess I'll have to be patient.
In the meantime, pingshuai gong has helped me get into the habit, as it's so simple even I can do it and maintain for half an hour daily.
May look like a proper charlie, but I enjoy it.

We sometimes do it at tai chi chuan. We do more bending of the knees in some of the exercises you've mentioned above. Exhale and sink. Inhale and rise. It can develop core strength and leg strength/root if done slowly. We loose the arrow unlike the woman in the first video.
Being slow also means you reduce the chance of an injury.
