I've turned into a monster snorer. Kids can hear me from bedrooms other side of the house. Wife is close to killing me.

I have tried the nose strips and Olbas inhaler before bed. That hasn't made much difference. I don't think I'm a nose snorer.

What's next to try? The mouth guards seem to vary between cheap st with mixed reviews and expensive custom kit. Any of them worth trying though? It's quite bad as I generally sleep on my side.

I know losing weight is number 1 and that is happening now, I just need something to help in the meantime as I'm quite overweight and that will take time.

Hi there. A custom made snoring appliance can be made by your dentist, usually around £300-700 depending on the type. Check out S4S Dental Laboratory, they have a good range of appliances and I have had great success with them for my patients.

I used to have a snoring problem and it got worse when I was overwright (according to NHS BMI calculator).
At it's worst the snores penetrate walls, really deep and loud.
I've tried various nose strips and mouth guard but that didn't help.
Lost around 1.8 stone (12kg) recently and according to the missus it made a big difference to my snoring. It's less frequent and definitely quieter.

edit: A higher pillow *may* help, but its really uncomfortable for me.

Download SnoreLab on iOS or similar to keep track of your snoring. Try sleeping propped up in bed tonight for as long as you can.
