Prompted by the adverts on the F1 coverage, having teeth that could be a bit straighter, I paid my £10 and sent off for the moulding kit.

It's arrived and still in the box. Only now has it occurred to me, that for these wonderful straightener-bracing thingies, I might be committing to expenditure that might be better spent with a dentist (though my current one hasn't exactly been too forthcoming with ideas).

Has anyone had experience of Smile?

Have used Invisalign for the last 5 years and would recommend them. I had 6 braces over a period of 7 years as a kid and always hated my teeth.
I've actually just finished them today and while I still need a couple of improvements, it's vastly improved my teeth. I think in total it's cost around £4k but that's included all the scanning, checkups, re-alignments etc.
The alternative was getting my jaw broken and re-aligned, and then the additional work, so it was definitely the right choice for me.

There is a world of difference between this and seeing a dentist. I went to a colleage of my wifes for clear correct (wife is a dentist but doesnt do braces)

Take these for example - https://www.instagram.com/p/CEcUkBlHild/

Mine werent as bad as these - I had 18+ sets of alligners, wore each from 2-6 weeks. I saw the dentist every 10 weeks. Even with an expert, digital scans, putting small "spots" of white filling on teeth for alligners to "grab onto", my teeth didnt move exactly as expected and needed 2 rescans, reprint of alligners. It also took nearly 18 months not 12 weeks!

If you move the teeth too fast they risk trauma and can die. Also if you look at her insta, a few months after, she has raging gum diesease so a responsible dentist would want this stabilised.

I bust my front teeth in an accident so they forced the bottom ones forward,
That Smile impression pack said yeah we can do it and did the plan.
When I decided i wanted the 3d scan they said we can only fix the top.
If I went off the impression kit and the plan they would have charged £1500.
I’m off to a dentist for some advice now.
