Accident 9 Days Ago - Still Have Swelling / Pain

I came off my downhill bike at around 40 mph

I thought I'd broken my wrist and the inner side of my knee had a swelling the size of a child's fist on it

After 7 hours in A&E the swelling had reduced somewhat and following X-rays they decided my wrist was just strained ligaments

9 days later the knee swelling hasn't reduced further and I still can't bend it properly (the kneecap is fine) it's the muscles tendons etc to the inner side of it

I really don't fancy another day in A&E and my doctors surgery appointments are in about 6 months hence my question here

Is swelling and pain this long after the injury normal or should I be doing anything about it ?

Currently just taking ibuprofen which doesn't seem to do much

Do you have a Minor Injuries Unit near you? Should show up on a Google.

They often have a much smaller wait, and sometimes very good staff.

Thanks but that's where I was when I said A&E - they sent me straight to the MIU - for 7 hours
