Wondering if anyone on here has had a neurectomy, or the doctors on here any thoughts ?

Background: Oct 2019 I slipped over, fell heavily on my right hand. Treated as if fractured scaphoid. On-going pain lead to a MRI in Jan 2020, which showed tear to scapholunate ligament (SLL). Assessed as 'grade 2', but (just realised) don't know if that's a general grade 2 partial ligament tear, or specifically Geissler grade 2 for SLL injury.

I guess covid has caused some delays in hospital visits, but upshot is I still have pain, which has meant physio has not been as progressive as hoped.

Had an ultrasound guided steroid injection in Oct last year, which left me pain free (hurrah), but sadly wore off after about one month.

End of this month I'm having fluoroscopy (to see if there's dynamic wrist instability) and anaesthetised PIN and AIN (nerves that terminate in the wrist) to see if this reduces/takes away pain.

If successful consultant is thinking of PIN & AIN neurectomy, which I was initially ok about, and by his admission his last roll of the dice in treating me.

However, been thinking that if appropriate the neurectomy doesn't actually fix anything, just takes away my body being able to tell me there's something damaged (seems akin to fixing a car issue by pulling the bulb from the warning light).

Anyone had a neurectomy ? Was it successful? Any regrets ?

Also wondering if I should seek second opinion about the SLL injury.
