It’s just a rebranding, Rowerg is a Concept 2 model d. Done to make the product line more in sync, Rowerg, Bikeerg and Skierg.

So there is no difference between the older model and this Rowerg version?

Is there an app or something available with the newer one?

No difference, just a paint job.
I use ErgData for more metrics when rowing and to automatically upload results to my online log and also Ergzone for automated workouts.
I recommend RowAlong on YouTube for workouts, loads of training plans to work through.

There is an app which can connect your phone to the monitor, also comes with a phone cradle. This is on the model D as standard.

And I quote ..

The Concept2 RowErg is available with either standard or tall legs.

The RowErg with standard legs has a seat height of 14 inches/36 cm and is the same as the Model D Indoor Rower. The only difference is the new name and machine graphics.

The RowErg with tall legs has an elevated seat height of 20 inches/51 cm and replaces the Model E Indoor Rower, which is discontinued. The difference is that now, the higher seat is achieved by adding taller front and rear legs to the popular Model D design. This means the elevated and standard height RowErgs both now have the same adjustable monitor arm and graphics. The taller legs of the elevated version feature large caster wheels.
