Sequence of pinpricks pain upper left chest
Discussion
I realise I should ring my GP but I was fine this morning and will do at some point but just wondering..
I occasionally (days, even weeks apart) get these stabbing type pains upper left chest sort of nipple area but deeper. Yesterday was driving home and got a set, was pretty worried for a while but then they stopped. Had them before but this was the most painful so far. Not intense pain but more worrying why its happening.
Nothing further apart from an occasional singular pain in that area for rest of evening maybe 4 or 5 times more. went to bed wondering if id still be here today! Thankfully I was.
This morning seem to be fine again. But Im fairly sure I'll get another episode at some point and worry is, it might be worse again.
The area of the pain does not seem to be where my heart is so Im wondering what it could be?
Cheers all.

I'd be certainly less cheery - Read back your two sentences that conflict each other. The area of the pain does not seem to be where my heart is so Im wondering what it could be?
Cheers all.
Be a man and get on the phone to the GP while you can..
When I was 17 my left hand lung collapsed twice in 3 weeks. 85% collapsed so quite significant! Before you get worried I am not for one second suggesting this is what you have.
I had a operation to stop it happening and touch wood 25 years later it's still holding out!
However, a few years ago I was in a stressful job, although I didn't really realise it at the time, and was experiencing chest pains. Random stabbing pains that could happen either during exercise, sat on the sofa watching TV, or at any other time. They also happened to be on my left hand side. I was convinced my repaired lung was on its way out. I had a full set of tests ECG, ultrasound, x-ray etc. I had one friend who continued to suggest it may be stress / anxiety related, which a constantly dismissed! Eventually I decided to leave the job and return to an old employer.
The day I handed my notice in the pains stopped and haven't returned since. Almost 4 years now. I've since apologised to my friend!
Sorry for the rambling post but as someone else has already suggested don't dismiss the mental side of things. It suprised me more than anyone when I eventually realised the two were related.
