I have got two ingrowing hairs on my neck. One has been there for months. They arent infected, but they are unsightly and irritating.

All I can find on google is laser treatment to stop you getting them, nothing to remove one already there. The NHS page says see your GP if they are obviously infected, and then says your GP "may" be able to remove it. I've got more chance of stting in the Queen's hand bag than getting a GP appointment at the minute, I would imagine even if I did they would tell me to ps off.

Its too deep for self surgery, I cant see it.

Any body got any ideas? Its driving me mad. Is it either live with it or find a private dermatologist and pay however many hundreds they want? I have Axa PPP but they have said jog on pal we dont cover that.

Sounds like a good excuse to purchase more power tools. I recommend the Makita 18v range, but other brands are available.

Might have to play the game for ‘found a lump under my skin’ to get it looked at.

It's not very technical - you just need to dig deep enough:

I'd go to your GP and see if the practice nurse could remove them for you.

Failing which....

Dr Emma Craythorne at the Onewelbeck Clinic in London does that sort of thing, don't know how costly but heard she is not excessively expensive.

Scabutz, do I remember rightly that you are in MK? If so I know someone that does things like this privately for not alot of fuss or money, let me know if you want the details.
