I don’t know a huge amount about them, my mums got one fitted as she has dizzy spells where she’ll pass out so they’ve fitted one to monitor her 24/7.

It’s an amazing bit of technology, she has a button on a key fob which she can press if she has a spell, this highlights the time and date I believe, other than that she has to hold this box next to it once a month which is plugged in to the phone line I believe, this takes the data from the implant and sends it to the hospital, it’s been beneficial to her as it’s picked up some minor disturbances in her heart beat.

I hope it helps you, I certainly don’t think there are any negatives/side effects to having one.

Thanks for that ,the ILR (as it is called) is now in place ,for anybody due to have the device ,I can report no after effects ,the device base station makes use of mobile phone tech via Voderphone .The accompanying fob when used marks the recording for when downloaded . If I was in the US ,the cost to me or my insurance would be around $20000.
