Hi all anyone in the NHS confirm if this is correct or not.

Daughter has had a positive PCR and is isolating at home.

I work for your normal everyday company and have been told to have a PCR test which I have had and is negative and as long as a lateral flow is negative on Monday morning come into work as normal with LFT tests every morning for the duration.

The Mrs works in a non patient facing role in the hospital. She has also had a negative PCR and is carrying out lateral flow tests but has been told she will have to isolate for 7 days by her management. Fair enough she works in close proximity to others and hospital staff have been hit hard.

She has however interpreted this as she cannot even leave the house this weekend or on her days off !

Is this correct ?

I read it as long as she’s fully jabbed up she just needs to do the test daily.

If work are telling her not to come in due to their policy, I’d say she’s still allowed out of the house.

My parents do the same for my brother. If his carers have someone in their household who has covid she doesn’t want them around my brother until the ten day period is up. They still get paid as normal though.

I would say this puts you off all dishes, laundry cooking duties for the next week as long as she doesnt become unwell.

Theres a lot of confusion around isolation in CQC, NHS, S&HC at the moment. Everyone seems to have an "idea" of what it means... my "boss" has one idea, their boss and another and then you have mine. I go with mine, ie. do what you think is right to minimise risk to others.

Our hospital had the same policy until recently. Your wife cannot go to work for the 7 days and LFTs daily.
Doesn't stop her going out of the house. It's purely stopping you going to work as a household contact of someone COVID positive
