Getting My Fitness Levels Back - With Restrictions
Discussion
Hi All,
Coming up 6 months on my L5/S1 spinal fusion and I'd like to start getting back into some sort of fitness regimen again, albeit very light impact (so running and lifting anything heavier than 10kg is out of the question).
I've lost 21kg through inactivity so it's really bugging me.
I currently walk 1 mile a day but its simply bored the life out of me now, I struggle to find the motivation to do it.
Just wondering what light impact yet effective exercises you would recommend?
I had a treadmill, fix bike, multigym and free weights at my disposal at home. I'm happy to buy new equipment if its worth it.
Thanks.

Couch to 5K, but use it in conjunction with the bike.
I damaged a ligament in my lower back (no way was it as bad as your op), which meant that running, squats, deadlifts, even rowing were all forbidden.
But i was allowed to use the bike.
Start off really easy, and build it back up.
It will take a while, but after 5 weeks you'll be impressed with the gains.
