Hi all,

I'm only approaching 30 but hair is getting thinner on my crown, temples are ok.

I was wondering if anyone has used the Nanogen 5 in 1 shampoo, or anything else they'd recommend.

Any other tips or advice?

Cheers

Just shave it off.

I tried that caffeine shampoo stuff, makes no difference to growth or whatever but i think that because it doesn't have any softener in it, so hair does sort of look / feel thicker as it's not as soft and silky.

Some hair product is almost like talc and that'll also make it look thicker.

Realistically though, shave it off now whilst there's still some there, get used to it short, and then you never have to worry again. My hair was thinning in a section relatively near the front and it was basically all I could see for years and it'd constantly bug me. Shaved short all over now and although I preferred myself with hair on the 1 or 2 days a month it looked OK, the other 28 days a month I feel much happier about it.

Also, shorter the better, if you go for a sort of half arsed grade 4 or something it can look a bit like a fluffy tennis ball and the thin bits are more noticeable.

Feel free to pretend that you're doing it for some wonderful charitable cause perhaps.

Read up on Minoxdil (supposed to be safe) and Finestrade (safe for many, screws up your penis for others). Those are the only two proven ones.

Or shave it short and get on with life

Do you style your hair and if so do you use any product? If you are using gels, waxes, creams these make hair appear thinner especially wet look.

Use a volumising/style powder such as Got2b styling powder, fudge powder, slick gorilla etc, finish with a clay. This will do far more for making hair appear thicker than any shampoo.

Consider your hairstyle also.

I do use nanogen shampoo and conditioner, but doesn’t make it thicker tbh, just like it as a shampoo/conditioner combo.

Finestride, minoxdil (esp for crowns) or hair transplant are the only proven solutions.
