Mrs Worsy has been subscribing to monthlies from Boots for years. Recently the service has been shocking, partly I guess to Covid rules. I did a bit of online research and there are plenty of sites which will sell by mail order her brand (bausch lomb purevision2).

Does anyone have a recommendation for a supplier?

Another Vision Direct recommendation from me.

I ditched B&L Purevision for "everclear Elite"; cheaper and more comfortable. Maybe worth trying them out.

Been using monthly disposables for years. Air Optix. I get them from the local optometrist. Superb service. They would be a bit cheaper online but the optometrist gives me a very thorough eye health exam twice a year at no cost which I think is worth the extra, although I've never had a problem.

I have used Boots for years - have also looked at online alternative suppliers. In the end I stuck with Boots because as well as contact lenses you get annual eye tests and contact lens tests, and also 50% (I think) off of glasses which seemed worthwhile additions for the small extra cost to me. Perhaps worth bearing in mind.

Alensa.

Used them for years, not a single complaint from me.

Yes but it has got frustrating trying to book the tests. She calls up and presses the relevant number for the optician and ends up being routed through to make up. They can't then transfer the call, or take a message to get a call back. If she calls back it just rings out.

It is probably just apathy at our local store.

All the Vision Direct recommendations made me go and check prices as I'm on my last pair now.

12m worth of Biofinity monthlies for £73 delivered next day @ Vision Direct. £93 for the same @ Feel Good Contacts after a 5% disc.

Cheers PH

(Im hoping Biofinity is a good choice, been wearing them 2years with no issues. But if I should be considering something else next time, let me know).

Where do you should get annual check ups done, out of interest?

I'm with Specsavers, and that all comes as part of my £30 a month subscription.

I've worn contact lenses for the last 38 years, and must admit, I've just left it to Specsavers for the last 25+ years to manage it for me.

Maybe I should look into whether I'm paying way too much for the ease and simplicity

Get mine done at Costco yearly.

They’re also a bit cheaper than my online supplier but going up there to order them, then going back to pick them up was a pain and tbh they’re optical department was pretty useless over the first lockdown so that’s the reason I switched.
