Face Cellulitis

Had it for a month, a bacterial infection [ maybe ] started on me nose, a real Elephant Man fizog for a time,
a dose of intravenous anti-biotics and two weeks of by mouth dosage have shifted the infection,
scabbing has healed, some tiny scarring of nose, it might disappear though.
but most worrying numbness and tingling of left cheek, upper lip and gums and some swelling still remain
causing sleepless nights.

Doctor is a bit vague, any PH members experiences, Is this a long recovery curve or might numbness never heal ?

I had cellulitis in my leg a couple of years ago. Sounds like it was a bit more serious than yours because I ended up in surgery and I've now got a weird hole in my leg. I still have numbness/tingling down my shin, although I think either it's diminishing or I've gotten used to it, probably a combination of the two.

I think your doctor is being vague because it's hard to say definitively, but if it's anything like mine, it'll be a pretty minor sensation.

Are you sure it's cellulitis? Sounds like it could have been shingles and now left with the postherpatic effects. Although shingles on your nose is often suggestive of opthalmic involvement. Was it just one sided? Painful?
