Cruising and hooning has become very exhausting
Discussion
Is it COVID-lifestyle related? Midlife health matters? Being burned out after a very stressful 2020 (lost job, found new one etc)?
I am contemplating the purchase of another car (classic jag) but I have doubts about the whole plan. Pre-all-this I enjoyed going on 1000km-round-trip weekend excursions, liked to drive around at night for a lonesome cig and music with open rooftop, all that.
Now a trip to the shop feels like an eternal journey. I am also having my left eye done (cataract) and doc says my brain is totally working at its limits because it gets confused by the blurry input from the left eye.
Has anybody experienced the same?

I had eye issues for a while, vitrectomy and then cataracts in both eyes. I did treat myself and get corrective lenses fitted when the cataracts were done, but up until then having blurred vision was very demoralising. As with you, I enjoy driving, and I was legally OK to drive, but it was hard work as I was concentrating so much just to make sure I didn't miss anything (no pun intended ...). I was finally discharged a couple of weeks ago and am now only just settling in to have proper vision again and going for drives for no reason. In fact this morning me and our dog went for a trip in my old Land Rover to a lake for a walk. Get your cataracts sorted and it will definately get you on the road back to normal !
