I'm thinking I need it, and dreading the thought. Over maybe the last year my foreskin has tightened, to the point that certain activities, cleaning under it, and you can guess the other things (!) have become painful.

Is the subject title the likely option, or are there any other options? To any men who are 'done', does the way anything feel change? (again, I'm sure you can get what I mean...)

If it needs doing is the after period painful, and are there any other things to know about?

I get it's a sensitive subject, but figure this community is 99% male, so no shame.

Can anyone shed any advice, suggestions, pointers, trusted places to read up etc, as it's been chewing me up for a while now.

Oh, and if anyone 'done' wants to discuss without announcing as such, then feel free to message me instead.

Had mine done 8 years ago (Sunday just gone was the 8 year anniversary!)

One of the best things I’ve ever done, I left it too long really, should have had it done in my teens.

Happy to answer any questions offline if it helps!

I was done as a child so can't really give an objective answer, other than I have no complaints. But a friend was done in his late 50s, about 10 years ago, due to ongoing issues, and says it's been a game changer for him. Best thing he ever did.

Can’t all skin be stretched with a bit of regular work?

Without hopefully getting too detailed, it's been some time since I've been able to stretch it back fully during self pleasure, and the last time we tried sex it was agony for me.

How old are you and why would the problem develop now assuming you're fully developed? Seem's odd to have this issue as a developed adult. Wimmen, can't trust them lol.

I started getting worried about that a few years ago and felt I was developing phimosis. In the past when I was doing a lot of cycling I would get cases of balanitis periodically and I think that may have contributed. It has actually resolved itself somehow.

I assume you've spoken to your GP? It's possible that they could prescribe hydrocortisone cream etc.

know a guy who had this done in his thirties -

a few years a go now, anyways he says it was a game changer for him and helped resolve an issue that had been ongoing....

the things he mentioned about it.

its not as bad as what he feared, your not going to be a john wayne bobbitt... and it heals pretty quickly.

Now the nitty gritty - that piece of skin covers the glans - that glans is kept moist and covered and pretty sensitive. the cut removed that skin and he said that its kinda toughened up the glans. its not as sensitive as what it was.

Any self love he said was different - no longer that piece of skin there, not much of a difference but a difference.

Much much cleaner, noticed that he feels fresher and cleaner. and much easier to keep clean..

now the big question... would he go back if he could... Absolutely not....

He said his wife wasnt keen on oral before... but its like she has changed her mind now and hes not going to moan about that.

so it does make a difference.

43, and god only knows. Wifey is the only woman I have slept with in 8 years, so no chance any grubby lass has given me her 'bugs'

So, why the shrinkage? That's the question I'd ask. You don't dip it in pickle. Defo a GP question.

All good to know. Never had any issues RE oral. Mind, S is normally asleep and I pinch her nostrils closed.

Joking!

Only issue that i had was getting abrasion sores on my bell end, where it could now rub against my underwear.

Toughens up eventually though

My reasons for getting it done sound similar to yours - and no, i wouldn't go back either !

Were the sores painful, itchy, or irritating, out of curiosity?

Dry / irritating

Sorts itself out after a couple of months.

I had to have a couple of poorly placed stitches removed a few days after i had the op. Fortunately the old lady nurse at the doctors surgery was a professional !

I have heard of it before…I am sure a Dr can advise the best route…hopefully a selection of hookers and the nhs is paying.

I would explore the other options but doubt you will have any issues having it whipped off either.
