Evening all,

Anyone suffered with trigger thumb? Been told I need an operation on my hand to solve it, but stupidly did not ask many questions with the consultant.

It is not painful now, but at one stage couldn't move the joint in the thumb and it was very painful. Some movement has returned, but still need the op.

Anyone had the Op? What does in entail? What is the recovery like?

Likely to be going private as the waiting list is 12months....

TIA

Mike

I had trigger thumb a few years ago. One day it stopped, just like that, and never returned - baffling.

They will likely offer you steroid injections first.
Worked on both my thumbs.
Ive had 3 different fingers operated on for Trigger Finger as the steroids didnt work long term.
Simple 15 min procedure done under local
Dissolvable stitches fully recovered in a few weeks.
