Changing second CV jab booking
Discussion
I've just received a text saying the NHS is bringing forward second jabs & to go onto the NHS site if I want to change it. I've done that & progressed through to "Manage" the booking but the only option I've got is to cancel the one I have - there's no option to change the booking.
Am I suposed to cancel the booking I have & make a new one? I'm reluctant to do that in case I'm only offered a later slot that the one I have now.

I did the same this morning. You have to cancel your existing appointment, then book a brand new one - you can't move your existing booking.
I suspected that was the case but it's poor UI design even if the first stage of changing a booking is to cancel the first one. Since I can't be sure that any alternative won't be later than the one I've got I'll have to stick with it. They should at least indicate when the next available date is. Yes, you do have to cancel your original 2nd Jab appointment and then you can choose an alternative date. The problem is that the new appointment time might not be convenient and likely to be at a different vaccination centre.
I received the NHS text this morning, tried the online method - then when seeing I had to cancel my appointment decided to ring 119. Was on hold for over 30 minutes and when connected to an adviser, was told that the agreed appointment had to be cancelled before another could be booked. She had been inundated with calls this morning from people with the same issue. If your 2nd appointment was for 4 weeks or later, it could be beneficial. I suggested that the NHS text should add that the 2nd Jab appointment had to be cancelled before a new one was given - as otherwise it was wasting a lot of people's time.
I refused to have my original appointment cancelled.
