sore nipple following supermarket assault

The background details are not really relevant, but as a result of a supermarket assault yesterday, I now have a sore nipple. It is a pierced nipple with a nipple bar. Can I use Voltarol gel on a piercing, as the instructions says topical application only. Don't really want to tie up health services/GP as they have enough on their plate. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Why nobjust take a couple of ibuprofen tablets?

Maybe try some ice also .

How did you treat the wound when you had the piercing initially? Do that again.
