Not as humorous as I imagined.
Knew I had buggered it on Tuesday evening. Surgery was on Friday. Should be home on Monday.
No visitors due Covid which has made it very hard for my partner, can’t imagine what it’s like for terminal I’ll patients.
Surgeon seemed very happy with how it went, there are other c ray pic. He mentioned in total 4 fractures. Going down into elbow.
if anyone has done anything similar could you let me know how recovery went and if there’s things I should or should not be doing.
Cheers

Elbows are buggers for seizing up after this sort of thing, so make sure you do your exercises! (Ouch btw!!!)

Did similar in 2006 but didn't have any surgery just a cast. Still feels wierd pushing and pulling things plus I have occasional shoulder and elbow pain doing certain exercises in the gym such as bench and shoulder press. Doing press ups you can see my hands are in completely different places.

I had an xray a few years ago as I was angling to have it rebroken and pinned properly due to the above. The bone is like a stretched out "s" shape but within tollerance according to the consultant.

You'll have fun getting mobility back into your elbows and shoulder. It's quite painful trying to get things moving again. I remember doing bicep curls with a water bottle too as I was so weak 😂

Good chat with the surgeon today. Although we spent a fair bit of time talking about our bikes and it looks like I’m gonna miss the best of summer, typical .....
he cleared up a few questions i had.

We are keeping the shoulder active but has said we won’t start on the elbow until I get the staples out in a couple of weeks. I’m still in some sort of hanging cast
The nerves are intact however I am struggling to open my hand. Closes okay, so looking like bruised or stretched nerves.
Will be referred on to neurologist for some nerve zapping or something, sounded a bit futuristic
Not a pleasant experience however all in all very interesting .

Hopefully get more angles from the X-rays up later today.
