Hi everyone.

I don’t usually post much, but was wondering if anyone has an idea of what could be happening to my daughters hands, or has a child with similar symptoms?

I also have poor circulation, but mine isn’t anything like as bad. She also has poor circulation in toes, but hands are worse.

She is 9 years old, and said fingers don’t throb, and gp said just keep warm (not always possible with kids and school).

I have attached a few pics, and wanted to get any advice before I start to panic!

Thanks.

You obviously realise very few people are going to be qualified on here.

I thought poor circulation would look pale maybe yellowish?

I've had over the past year really bad skin reactions, very red, small bumps and cracking on both hands.

I believe it's the nitrile gloves I've been wearing, it might have been the hand sanatiser or even over washing my hands.

This might be a skin reaction an unqualified guess to something, so you can only go see a doctor to be sure and get a qualified answer.

Looks like the opposite of Reyauds if that's possible
Reynauds, when it's cold the circulation drains from the fingers which turn white and become numb, when they warm up circulation returns the fingers go red, and very painful.

I am not medical and at the risk of asking a stupid question...is she cold?

If she feels the cold maybe she needs a bigger jumper and some woolly tights.

How's her capillary refill?

My partner has raynauds and when you squeeze her finger tips it takes forever for the blood to fill back up again.

Have you looked at the possibility of any thyroid issues?

(I'm not a doc, btw - I'm not even a real reverend tbh)

I have Raynauds, when my hands are cold they'll go bright red before going completely white past the knuckles. Worth getting it checked out, even though I don't think there's anything they can do?

Are her feet the same? Any swelling and/or fevers?

No fevers but toes are similar. Although they are red they are cold, and when I press them gently very quickly go white then return red.

It is a valid point about her being cold, we spent the hour after school in a sun trapped garden and it was quite warm.

I guess another call to Gp and be a bit more persistent.

If the GP specifically mentioned keeping her warm maybe get her some thermals, tights and a thicker jumper.
