41 y/o and got a text today, looks legit.

But what is my underlying condition?

I’ve been to the docs a fair bit in recent years but all checks come back ok.

So apart from stress which they may have inferred and thought mental health concerns, could that be flagging me?

Already done my online ‘consultation’ so just have to wait until Tuesday for a response.

Hopefully I don’t die before then and find my life insurance isn’t valid hehe

Anyone else has one and not sure why, and queried it?

Probably the stress. Friends with similar things have had their jabs for that reason

General advice is that if you're happy to have it, go for it. Results in more admin to change it and also potentially a wasted dose at the end of the day.

I'm 54 and have no underlying health issues. In fact, I can't remember the last time I visited a doctor. I got offered and took my first jab a couple of weeks ago.

Hello, I had exactly the same text, I don't have any underlying health conditions. Perhaps it's a way to move vaccines beyond the current government narrative of age scales legally(ish), not sure.

Anyway, I booked in and had the jab. Plenty of time slots over many days and a very slick operation. I was jabbed at the Kassam Stadium, wait in the car, 5 minutes before your appointment go in and get jabbed.

I got the text yesterday sent to those with underlying health conditions. Apart from being a stone overweight and controlled high blood pressure I've no other issues. However, as I'm 59 I'd already booked a vaccination about a week ago for this coming Tuesday.

But, my partner who has severe asthma (she failed her last spirometry test due to a lack of lung capacity) never received a text when they opened the window for those in the at risk category. She had to phone her surgery and nag them.

Go figure.

My sister (under 50) had the vaccine last week. She was called because of her underlying health condition but she has no idea what that condition is and the people at the vaccine centre couldn’t tell her.

How fat are you?
BMI is a factor that is being taken into account when calling people forward ahead of their aged-peers.

It sounds a bit like they just want to inject more people from lower brackets as others further up are saying no.

So any old thing on medical record is now a risk factor, so they can get younger brackets in, numbers up, but not have a stampede from lower age brackets being called up generally.

Cheers for the reports back, glad to know it’s just not me.

Think I’ll skip for now until I speak to my doctor.
Then again neighbours family just came through our back garden touching our gates to get to their parents for Mother’s Day with tray of sandwiches and balloons hehe

Goodness, so much can go wrong, thankfully I fit none on that list, and I guess that is a short list, I did have my gall bladder out in 2007...

Next Jab booked in for early June.

I got one. I had bronchitis about 8 years ago (twice) and they give me the flu jab for free, so assume it's my reason for the Covid one. I'd already made an appt though a few weeks before, as I tried the online system out of interest and it let me book one

I had mine last week. I'm 38 and the reason for the jab was my Bipolar. Ironically, having been diagnosed with an auto immune respiratory condition last month I thought that would bump me to the top, but apparently not. Similar to yours, I know a guy who had severe anxiety and stress a couple of years ago, and that bumped him onto the list.
Quite a few folks my age and younger getting their jabs when I went, surrounded by a lot of old codgers getting their second dose.

Not a fatty. Probably just into overweight.

I asked doctor and he said nothing on record was worrying him, and just said if you’ve been offered it to take it.

Then a few days later I got an invite from doctors surgery saying lots of slots free. So not sure why they’re now flagging me for it too.

Strangely my wife hasn’t had anything through and she’s older than me.

Weird.

Still not keen on taking it so will wait.

Why are you waiting when your doctor has told you to take it? This seems weird to me.

It seems reasonable to me.

I’m sure there are tons more people who probably would feel safer or happier or benefit more than me, so they can go first.

It may just be an admin error. They sent the same text to my 16yr old daughter who has no health conditions and certainly isn't in an at risk age group!

Similarly my wife received 4 text invitations to have her jab, 2 of them after she had already had it.

None of which detracts from the tremendous work being done by the vacciators.

There's no need for you to delay being vaccinated. Most of the elderly together with those who have underlying health conditions and the clinically extremely vulnerable of all ages will have received their first, perhaps also their second, vaccination by now.

I've been volunteering at a GP vaccination centre and we completed the first vaccinations to those three categories on February 19th.

Got a text from another GP surgery miles away now. Book for tomorrow.

Still unsure why I’m special at 41.

Some areas are ahead of others (fewer old folks perhaps) and are jabbing people into their 30's. Some people's health records contain coding errors or codes relating to conditions they no longer have (childhood asthma for example).
