Struggling to understand why you would...? If you've had the vaccine, you'll have the antibodies.

Because there's growing evidence to support the fact current vaccines don't work as expected in immunosuppressed people.

The antibody test will show if you have had COVID but will not show if you have mounted an immune response to the immunisation.
It tests for antibodies to a different part of the SARs-CoV-2 virus.

Sounds like a comment from a clinical point of authority?

Yep.
Also the Ab test does not measure all aspects of immunity so some people will not have measurable Antibodies but will have immunity.

Thought I’d resurrect this thread rather than start a new one...

5 days after first jab...no antibodies (me)

4 weeks after first jab ....antibodies (wife)

I did wonder if I had COVID very early last year, if I did nothing to show for it... wife no COVID positives or symptoms so assume this is the jab working.

Next blood test in a couple of weeks hopefully my vaccine will have kicked in.

The usual antibody test will indicate if you have developed immunity due to previous exposure (Ab to nucleocapsid protein) but not immunity produced by immunisation (Ab to spike protein).
Are you being tested as part of a trial or study into the immunisation (in which case they may be testing for the appropriate antibodies)?

Not if you're imuno suppressed by steroids . I've had 2 jabs and would love to know if I've got anti-bodies. I reduced my steroid intake prior to being vacinated in the hope my immune system would spot an 'invader'.

It’s the ONS one, we’ve been doing the swab tests since November now doing blood tests too, as far as I know it’s not related to the timing of the vaccination. I’ll have a look through the paperwork.
