If it is worse when you first get out of bed in the morning and you're hobbling around like an old man, it is probably plantar fasciitis.

Starting exercise/changing your exercise routine/being stood up for long periods/changed to thin soled flat shoes will trigger it.

Exacerbated by a lack of exercise through lockdown so your calves and achilles have tightened.

Usually felt where your arch meets your heel, but can be at the other end behind the ball of your foot. It can also radiate across the bottom of your toes.

If you spread your toes with your big toe downwards (to lift the inside arch of your foot) you should get some relief. Alternatively if you press stretch your toes pointing upwards against a step/skirting board it'll stretch it, in a painful, but hopefully good way.

If not gout as above.

My gout attacks are usually in my metatarsals for some reason.

''Plantar fasciitis typically causes a stabbing pain in the bottom of your foot near the heel.''

Is it o. The toe next to the big toe? It could be Friebergs disease. I had this and it was very painful. Small operation sorted it out.

I had horrendous foot pain on and off, posted on here about it.

Now it occurs very rarely and its for a morning, ever few months.

I tried physio, insoles, many doctors and consultants appointments to no avail.

The difference came when someone suggested Turmeric, night and day difference, I was sceptical but can only go on my experiences.

Unfortunately I already have long-lasting inflammation, so could be, it did start to get worse after jab, but has got much better on it's own.

I use this one,

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01AS39QB2/ref...

Honestly, I went from having foot pain every few weeks and sometimes it hung on for two weeks at a time, excruciating, could keep me awake at night but nothing any medical folk could seemingly do.

Someoen suggested t to me, I got some and didnt really think it made much difference but wasnt really taking it properly, and not for long so when it got worse I tried again and was religious with taking it, been about a year and half and the only pain I have had has been twice, for a day or less. I had it recently and it came on overnight, I thought "Oh st, here we go, nice whilst it lasted" but it subsided during the day and went, it was maybe a third of how painful it had been at one point and barely lasted a few hours.

Cant promise it will work but it seems to do for me.

Thanks, I ordered some turmeric with black pepper ones as that was pretty much all I could find on amazon. Its for my husband, he's been having a lot of trouble with the pain, it got diagnosed as gout.
It does keep him awake at night, hence the reason he took himself off to hospital at stupid o'clock one night and got the diagnosis.
Will see how he gets on.

Gout usually has some pretty effective treatments and dietary methods for avoiding flare ups.

I was checked for it and it apparently wasnt gout, didnt fit the symptoms even if it was similar.

Has he been to his GP ?
