Hi
I have tennis elbow which is causing me a fair bit of pain despite having physio once a week and just had a second steroid injection which hasn’t helped much.
Consultant I’m seeing has said there’s an operation to free it up but only has a 60-70% chance of success.
Has anyone had a procedure on tennis elbow? If so did it work?

I’ve had mine for at least a year after doing years of bat and rackets sports when I was young as well as some pretty hard labour with demolition hammers etc whilst in between jobs!
I had a steroid injection about three months ago which was painful i itself but now I’m struggling to pick up a cup of tea? Luckily I’m back in a driving job so it doesn’t affect my work but it’s a real PITA on a day to day basis as is hurts most of the time.
Should I get another steroid injection or try something else?

I had it for 20 years on and off in both arms. The original treatment involved weekly ultrasound over the area which worked after 6 or 7 visits, but the exercises the physio gave me were the best treatment and could be done even preventatively which kept it at bay for the longest time.
Hang your arms down by your side. Make a fist and bend your wrist upwards while turning your hands inwards to stretch the outer part of the forearm as much as possible. Do it gently though, and do it often.
More recently I had another bout which was a combination of tennis and golfer's elbow. I don't have exercises for golfer's elbow but eventually physio sorted it. Then I lost some weight and it seems to have released the pressure in my arms considerably. I'm hoping that's the best long-term fix.
