It stands for Begnin Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo.

For years I have reacted badly when lying down on my back with my head lower than my body, such as trying to work on a car etc. Start to feel sick, get headache and have to get up. Caused vomiting a couple of times. Feel rough for a couple of hours after.

I only found out about it last week after it happened again and the wife suggested looking it up, quite surprised that it was an actual 'thing'.
Anybody else ever heard of it or suffer from it.
Any cure/help available.

Easy to self diagnose imo.

Lie down flat on the couch or bed with your head hanging just over the edge. Have somebody hold your head and raise you quickly into a seated position. You'll be dizzy as dizzy is and the assistant should see your eyeballs rapidly looking all over the place whilst your head's swimming.

A set of 4 excercises move the loose crystals in your ear back to the correct place.

I did them myself because the GP wanted me to wait a fortnight and that was after he'd done the diagnosis!
