back consultants in/nr oxfordshire
Discussion
Cna't help with specific place because it's not my area but can you explain what is wrong and I might be able to help. I've had a back disc for two years now, had physio hydrotherapy, injections in my back and a few consultants telling me they can fix me but Covid kicked that into touch for. the next few months at least.

thanks but long story! car crash years ago but the more pressing need at the moment is excruciating pain under shoulder blades and have tried chiro, yoga, pilates, drugs, new bed etc etc. want someone who will scan the fk out of it then turn round like House and say this is the cure!in reality am after an injection and a way forward
Have you considered an osteopath? My dad was/is registered disabled with his back, spent better part of a year in bed unable to go anywhere. Tried everything the NHS offered.
Went to see one who came recommended. He had to go for intense sessions at the start but he improved considerably and has had a generally decent working life since. 20 years later still a joiner. He goes for the odd session to keep on top of it.
The osteopath wasn't covered by the NHS and he's spent £15k+ with him, but nothing in the preceding years got him sorted and was money well spent.

Might be a slightly further trek north to Brum but perhaps try https://www.thebackpainandlegpainspecialist.com/ - I work in the industry and have heard some good things. He can often treat you without surgery.

Mrs rxe is a physio, I’ve seen the odd “take up your bed and walk” scenario in her care, but her general mantra is that it is your back, not hers, and you need to do the work. You’re highly unlikely to get insta-cure with something that has been there for years.in reality am after an injection and a way forward
My advice would be to find an old fashioned “hands on” physio - if you don’t get work to do between sessions then you’re likely seeing the wrong person. Mrs rxe is somewhat scathing about the pieces she has to pick up on occasion. Operations are not the panacea that people believe, she has fixed many patients who were looking for a bit of pain relief while waiting for the op. The only back that I think has defeated her eventually went for an op that made it far worse.
