For the last few years I've been on a couple of blood pressure medications that keep my score hovering around 125-130/75-80. Having finally managed to lose some weight to the point where I'm merely overweight rather than obese, I've noticed it's gone down to about 111-115/72-75, still using the medication.
If I find it's a choice between the current pressure and medication, or a slightly high pressure without medication, what would be preferable? I'll ask the doctor at the next check up obviously but I'm interested to know wat other think. The drugs aren't causing me any problems at the moment.

I would definitely get off a medicine you don't need.

Sounds like you've done and are doing the right thing by addressing the problem rather than sucking on something to keep you going. When you speak to your doctor I would imagine he'll be open to cutting the meds somewhat if not completely and then monitor. Poor diet is the problem which you are obv assressing, rather than the weight as such. The weight comes as a consequence of the diet.
