We're looking for a treadmill for home use that can be easily folded away, and when folded away it takes up as little space as possible. The smaller/lighter the better.

In terms of speeds, I think around jogging speed should be fine (about 10km/h).

I looked around the internet last night, but couldn't really find exactly what we are looking for. I did come across one in Argos, but it's out of stock everywhere and seems to only be available at Argos. It looks good because it folds to a really compact size.

This is mainly for my wife, she's not a runner but wants to get a little exercise and she doesn't get on with an exercise bike at all. Ideally it's to be used while watching TV (multitasking).

Does anyone have experience of compact treadmills and can anyone make any recommendations?

I bought this last year https://www.viavito.com/lunarun-fold-flat-treadmil...
and it is a great piece of kit. Probably doesn't fold as flat as the Argos one but its very sturdy and when folded it doesn't take up a lot of space.

edit to add - having looked I paid £699.00 so its gone up quite a bit!

Thanks, sadly that's probably a bit more than we wanted to pay for something that's probably going to get used three times a year smile

EDIT: I should have mentioned. I think I'd be willing to spend up to £500

This treadmill doesn't look too bad, but you've got to screw the handles on/off when you want to use it and put it away.

This may be of interest. Within your budget however you will need to asses the risk of not getting it !!

I looked at that, but it's only walking speeds (6km)

Would an elliptical trainer take up less space?

We have one, practically brand new, paid €60 for it and it’s decent.

The main issue for us is being able to store it somewhere out of sight when it's not in use. With a folding treadmill we can stick it under a sofa bed out of the way and just get it out when needed.

With an elliptical trainer, it's always going to be in the corner of the room taking up space.

Appreciate the suggestion though.

I bought a jtx finess sprint 7 treadmill which is excellent. They do a folding version jtx sprint 3 that might be worth a look.
