Renting a treadmill?
Discussion
Looked in to it ourselves after I rented a Waterrower a few years ago.
Zero availability when we were looking in October for any treadmill rentals, and more or less the same for a purchase.
Budget creep saw us putting an order in for a DKN machine.
Delivery went back (and this was a £750 unit)
Luck would have it, one turned up locally second hand hardly used, for £240.
It is in the garage and used most days by her indoors.
Keep an eye out on the usual second hand places.

The problem is the weight of the item. I bought a used Life Fitness running machine and cross trainer - I hadn't appreciated the weight until I tried to remove them from the house of the seller. Each item is nearly 120kg, and they can't be easily dismantled. The weight seems to be almost entirely in the motor. They are seriously heavy items - moving them is a workout in it's own right!

Yes.The GF announced the purchased Treadmill was on the Third floor of this lovely part of town......
Never crossed my mind I would need tools, but after borrowing a few bits dismantled in 30mins, and even then, the deck alone must have been 100Kg down the stairs...
Whereabouts are you based Bob?
Looked at your profile though it's a bit vague geographically. I'm in N Manchester (Bury) and have one which you could either try out, or pay me what I paid for it when I bought it last year, (I think I gave around £180 but will check) and own it. I'll even throw a little portable TV in as well to make the aimless meandering a bit more bearable.
It's a Reebok ZR8 and is up and running with no known faults though, as mentioned earlier, will need a couple of you to lift it. I'm a bit limited here due to a previous heart issue which I'm still wary of.

There's plenty available at auctions if you're feeling lucky
