Heat in my groin?
Discussion
Before I go and get told to go away by a doctor...
For the last month or two I've had a bloom of heat on the right side of my groin. It's not a burning sensation, it certainly is hot though. It occasionally aches or twinges but that's rare, most of the time it sits there radiating heat, sometimes a great deal of it.
It sounds like hernias can create this, but I can't feel anything different and nothing happens coughing or lifting any weight.
I was totally nobbled by sciatica for a few months but I've no idea whether a nerve issue could create such circumstances.
Has anyone had anything similar?

I had a disc go at L5 which amongst other things has left me with the sensation of someone flicking my left testicle constantly, certainly no heat sensation.Has anyone had anything similar?

Maybe it a condition called Varicocele, basically a varicose vein in your ball sack.
Not balls either. It's more out and up towards where the thigh meets the crotch. Balls would likely be simpler too. Bomberharris said:
That can still be dobey or crotch rot.
Does it go away if you have a cool bath ?
It's immune to any external stimuli. It's way deeper than any skin layer. Does it go away if you have a cool bath ?
Ah well. I'll wait to see if it explodes unless doctoring clears up a bit. It feels like it's at muscular level which is why I'm thinking hernia but presumably you should be able to feel something there and it's as normal.
