Good morning folks
My elderly mother has trouble walking around at home and I'm thinking of getting some walking aids for her.
Can you kindly recommend anything and let me know if I could get financial assistance in buying such aids?
Thanks

You can get such items VAT free. Most sellers of these type of items offer this.

Under normal circumstances you'd get in touch with your local Adult Social Services and they'd arrange for an Occupational Therapist to do an assessment and they might supply equipment free. Don't know how that would work at the moment. Might be worth giving SS a call.

Just to add, that's how things work in Wales, it might be different in other parts.

A referral via the GP to either an Occupational Therapist or the local Falls Team is a good start.

There are many local firms, https://www.millercare.co.uk/ or maybe have a word with the Red Cross?
