Finding motivation and start good habits
Discussion
I'm really struggling and have been for a while.
I want to improve things, and I've come up with a couple of ways to help me get motivated, especially with work, but some more tips for this wouldn't go a miss. I have tried speaking to my GP, but they were as good as useless, so time to try and help myself as best I can.
There are 2 main sources of what is probably turning In to depression for me, one is my work and the other is a close family member with a mental health condition who relys upon me heavily. The work situation I would very much like to address but I have a couple of debts that won't be cleared in quite a while so for now, I'm stuck. The debts are partly due to the family member mentioned above and it really frustrates me that I'm in a worse situation through no real fault of my own. But, I have accepted the situation and deal with as best I can. I only really have the option to try and improve with the things that I can control.
So far, I've come up with this to-do list:
Eat more healthily,
Get some exercise,
Go to bed a little earlier,
Swap "screen time" for reading,
Think about the things I am grateful and lucky for. Fortunately I have the most kind and supportive girlfriend, and we have worked incredibly hard to be able to buy a small home together which we share with two cats.
Aside from being thrown pills by the doctors, does anyone have any tips for me to help me drag myself out of bed in the morning with a bit more enthusiasm and energy?

Try to do it with someone else then you or her/him can help motivate the other when chips are down.
Put a grant chart on the wall of where you exercise ticking off what you’ve done
Log your weight daily
Why not put a video of yourself on YouTube - some guy who weighed 475lbs did and in 365 days he lost 197lbs. People watched him and gave huge motivation. People turned up to where he’d do his walks etc
At some point there fitness instructors got involved too mad from what was shown the simplest thing of hearing gosh you look a bit thinner goes a huge way.
Good luck
Maybe a PH go from morbidly fat to normal group shout be set up vids of those involved etc.
As for starting point and end point where are you in that?

Thank you. My post wasn't just about motivation to exercise, but about motivation in general. Although I definitely do need to lose weight and do some exercise. I am starting couch to 5k on Wednesday with my OH. Hopefully this will have a good impact overall on my mood and my body. I'm 5ft9 and 12st4lbs so not massive by any stretch but I definitely have some timber to lose. 11 stone would be nice. I have used a keto diet in the past for weight loss but I'd like to try and take a more balanced approach this time.
