Looking for an adjustable bench. I have found my existing bodycraft bench too soft and slightly higher than I think it should be. I like the hammer strength bench used in my local gym, but they sell for £1500. Is there any decent alternatives?

I purchased this bench in March this year. Quite sturdy and can take regular abuse. Obviously not up to commercial gym standard, but not far off IMO.

How do you find the pad? May be is soft and allows too much movement and absorbs energy compromising the lift

I bought a Mirafit bench after quite a lot of research, and for the money I can't complain. It's not quite as sturdy as the ones you'll find in a gym, but it's not far off. The bad is wide enough and not too soft.

Pads are fine IMO, possibly with less give than many benches in a commercial gym. I'm pressing 2x50 'bells and the bench feels absolutely fine.
