I've been on the Concept 2 waiting list for a while, it's a 12 week wait, estimated time I'll get mine is mid October.

I've used the C2 in a gym hence why I ordered it, only one I know. I'm just looking to get fitter generally and all I've done with the C2 is set a certain distance and increased it every week, I won't use any of the other advanced features, I just need something with a decent rowing action for a beginner. With that in mind I've started to look at in stock and cheaper alternative, has anyone used something like this one below or suggest something similar?

Waiting list? They seem to be readily available.

And yes, you need a C2 not anything else.

I haven't tried to order one, but Argos is claiming to have them delivered in 14 days.

In answer to the other part in more detail, though, the Concept 2 are the "go to" rower and what are used by proper rowers pretty much everywhere as well as in international competition.

They are utterly bomb-proof and serviceable.

They also hold their value very well.

When you get it, sign up for the daily emails. They send you a Short, Medium and Long workout about 7am, and the key presses for the computer to follow the program. Recommended.

Cheers, thanks for the replies, I've not used one in years and I'll be surprised if I can do 5 minutes, need to build it up again.

Argos, seemed to show them but you can't order it, all the Amazon stock is now gone, sold in minutes. Not surprised as some seller charging £1800.00, few new ones on ebay for £1200.00

I would seriously consider paying overs for a C2 rather than buying something else.

I might search eBay for a local one and try tempting them with cash.

Nah, don't think I'd pay the stupid amounts being asked, only one available from amazon now is from another seller priced at £1845.00, almost a £1k over what they sell for, I wouldn't feed these chancers.

Ebay, facebook etc are commanding strong money, old ex gym machine PM2/3 going for £600 plus, happy I waited for a new one at £860.00, should be with me Friday.

That's great. You'll like the Concept 2, and if you don't you can make a few quid!

I sold my ex-gym Model C in February for £100 more than I paid for it five years ago, because I'd finally joined a gym so didn't need it any more. Then the lockdown happened....

I’d better join you.... got a water rowing machine and am super happy. C2 are great and I use them at the gym, but the water ones are soooo much quieter for home

Yehh, my Concept 2 turned up this morning from Amazon, just need to set it up at the weekend and watch some beginners videos, looking forward to get back into it after 5 years.

As an ex rower...

The C2 is the go to machine.

The water rower is actually a nicer rowing action, more comfortable, quieter, nicer looking and easier to store. It's what I would be looking for if I wanted one at home.

Wait for the Concept2. I had mine delivered in Feb, luckily before the pandemic and them selling out!

It is very easy to set up, takes about 15 mins to put the stand on and clicl6 the 2 parts of the machine together. Minimal maintenance required and they are very robust.
