Lump in chest boob - male.
Discussion
Yesterday I felt a lump in my right breast, I don't have breasts as in the traditional lady breasts, what's the male equivalent, booby? Above the nipple, quite large 10cm diameter lump, it was hard but after poking and pushing it about for a while the hardness has subsided and now feels like a grisly lump, it moves around. Has anyone had this? I phoned the docs but they said ring back Tuesday morning, after reading I don't think it's serious but as men we fear the worst.
I haven't been to the gym for months, so I don't think its a strain, my alcohol consumption have increased exponentially since March due to not having to wake at 7am. Obviously, no one here will know what it is but I feel better posting and someone may have had a similar 'lump/

Get it checked out, but remain calm only a very small percentage of lumps are cancerous. I’m guessing it’s just mammary glands (We all have them!) that have popped up due to a slight hormonal change. I had them both sides as a teenager. I was terrified and kept touching/squeezing them, which made them sore and bigger. Eventually just went down of their own accord. You need to put your mind at rest. It’s almost certainly the glands have become more noticeable.

The important thing is not to go and see your GP or a walk in centre, but to ask on a car forum.

I tried to see a doc but got poo-pooed when I rang to call back next week. I will seek advice as soon as possible and will report back with the synopsis! I'm not too worried as I don't have any symptoms of C, NHS website, it could be a limpoma condition but the lump isn't visual, I will see. Just an odd lump which is odd....
Don't let a bh of a receptionist delay this, please.
Call them tomorrow and INSIST on an seeing your GP.
My brother's GP in the USA failed to diagnose a symptom and its cause, just wanting to treat the symptoms with pills, but because my brother was fed up with her treating symptoms rather than finding their cause, he kept pushing and pushing for more tests and found he has prostate cancer!
Good luck with your moob inspection.

Sounds like a classic case of gynecomastia, quite common in middle aged males who don't look after themselves and/or suffer hormone imbalances for other reasons. Low testosterone/high estrogen is responsible, the causes of which need to be investigated by your doc but poor nutrition and lack of excercise/being overweight are contributory factors. Not suggesting you fall into this camp but if you do consider some lifestyle changes to get a bit healthier, but definitely go and see your GP regardless.
If it’s hard tissue I could just be a type of gynecomastia too, but as above, get it checked just in case.
Gynecomastia is just breast tissue which most men have a trace of under the nipples. Which is why men can get breast cancer.
But it can become hard, when people do steroids/take hormones it can accelerate this. I believe there is medication to reduce it, but it can be be removed with a simple op too.Hope it goes ok for you.

Just seen this thread. As a result of exercise/diet I lost a stone and a half a few years back and as a result found a 9cm long lump under my right breast.
GP saw me quickly and actually had me ultrasounded in a couple of weeks. Ultrasound doctor was sure it was a lipoma, but took months for an MRI. MRI showed nothing of concern.
Eventually fought for GP to win funds for me to have it removed, which was tricky as MRI showed it was wrapped around ribs.
Eventually had it removed by a plastic surgeon under general anaesthetic in Dec19, just before covid... Biopsy showed nothing to worry about.
In short - go private if you can.

Get checked out asap don't wait 3 weeks for an appointment or a telephone consultation.
Could be a lipoma I has one just under my elbow after I whacked my arm off a goalpost, big bruise then the lump which went from pea sized to goal ball.
For about two years it didn't bother me, then when I pushed it I got a sharp pain under my armpit. Had it taken out and watched it all, genuinely not squeamish but the wee fatty blob came out along with a purple blood vessel.
