Cleaning my ear now can't hear

Was cleaning my ear with some tissue, yes i know, but suddenly felt like there was water in it and can't hear. i thought maybe pushed earwax up so carried on cleaning but got no better and now 2 days later can't hear very well, was painful but that has died down a bit.
Tried some ear wax removal, as it was pretty bad, like tar, black stuff in there. Go to a and e?

Nurse was annoyed the doc had not told me to do that first when I reported in, it makes for an easier time all around. Checked with nurse which oil, said you can buy stuff from chemist (olive oil) or use kitchen stuff as long as its clean.
Edit. Caveat, no pain for me. I had not been drilling in.

This is terrible advice. It could also be that the act of using the tissues has rubbed up against both eardrums, damaging the tissue! It takes VERY little friction to permanently damage the surface of the eardrum . . . Ask me how I know. I have a noticeable loss of high frequency hearing, & conducting a conversation is a tad trickier since I did something very similar to the OP. . .
Also . . .do not use Otex. Full of chemicals. Use room temperature warm olive oil as mentioned above

yes got the optrex just no change, just concerned as a friend ended up deaf due to similar issue.

Goosey, they tell you not to use cotton buds so you use... tissue - the stuff that disintegrates and falls to pieces (you may have left a piece inside your ear).
As for the 'black tar' stuff? Dark col wax or worse, how about congealed blood - it can be dark brown black?
Anyway, go to a pharmacist. Quick. Easy. Nothing wrong with pharmacists - some imo and others are cleverer than GPs. It's life.
One lady pharmacist round here was hated by the GP practice because she assessed people in her chemist, if they asked her. Many did.
Including me one day some years ago when I got bitten by something and I spotted a little red line beginning by the bite on my elbow. By the time I reached the chemists it had got a bit longer. She spotted me and stopped serving, came over, I explained my predicament and one look and said that is tracking, get to the local community hospital quick, but don't run. She even told me which door (number) to go through, but not to say she'd sent me. She was in many people's estimation round here a health wonder! I did what she said except I did run! Within those few mins the tracking had moved further up my arm, I had the antibiotics in my hand and took the first! I still have the photo I took at that time. She worked right up until past retirement, and is now revered in our town.
My, how times change, who do they ask you to see these days if you can't see a gp? A pharmacist. Plus, if you wished, because even supermarkets have pharmacies now, you could get a couple or more opinions quicker than seeing a gp - I know, I've done it!
Re ears. and for 'wiggy'.
I recall this with my late dad. An earwig got inside his ear, everyone tried lots of things to no avail, he was at the hospital when a 'pharmacist' enquired what was wrong as these medics tried in vain to relieve his pain and anguish. One was about to use a drastic measure to try and remove the said bug!
Then the hospital pharmacist intervened - he told dad to pinch his nose and blow very hard.
You can guess the rest surely?

If you're using Optrex then I'm not surprised nothing has happened. Olive oil dropped in four times a day for a week will soften ear wax. Stop poking anything smaller than your elbow in your ear canalGassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
