My wife had this done professionally at our dentist which cost £250, and then maintains with at home kit. Results were pretty good. Try Groupon or similar for vouchers.
I'm trying at home kit myself, and the results are slow to say the least, but at £30 I can't complain.
You can if it does fk all though I'm trying at home kit myself, and the results are slow to say the least, but at £30 I can't complain.

My sister imports some strips from america you cant get here.
She has stupidly white teeth like the people on the tv.
She also complains about sensitivity.... so I'd probably get it done by a professional.

I’m in the US but originally the U.K. I started getting my teeth whitened a few years ago. Americans have this stereotypical thing that all British people have bad teeth. Mind you, after seeing Jeremy Clarkson over the years I can see where they are coming from.....
I’m fortunate to have good straight teeth (age 51) and am often complemented on them.
Anyway, I had molds of my teeth made for a sort of gum shield by my dentist. Every 6 months or so I apply a clear whitening gel from the dentist for about 2 weeks. Apply and wear the shield daily for about 15mins before bed. Rinse mouth. Job done. The gel can cause a bit of sensitivity and how much you use it results in how white your teeth go. I don’t go for full beam dazzlers btw.

Looks like the kit I had from our dentist. I had yellowish teeth due to damage from medicine as a child. Our dentist made me up some trays and sold me the bleach; it was about one million pounds. If those kits mean that a dentist can be avoided it sounds promising.
My dentist did mine for £300. They make a set of trays using a mould of your teeth, you put the whitening goo into them and wear them overnight, shorter daily stints are fine too, but I just whack them in before I go to bed and forget about them.
Initially I did it for around three weeks and the results were dramatic - they whitened nicely but weren't ridiculous or OTT. I keep 'em topped up with a fortnight's worth of whitening a year now, the dentist sells me the stuff for £18 a pop, I use two of them a year.
It's worth noting that there's potential for discomfort if you have sensitive teeth - towards the end of the first long stint the discomfort set in so I took a couple of days off, everything was right as rain within a day or two.

Get some carbamide peroxide in the lowest concentration you can find. I think I used 9% for overnight application. The higher concentrations will work much quicker, but they can make your teeth sensitive. I got this info from my orthodontist when I got my brace removed.
Great advise There is a reason UK has a legal limit of .1% in over the counter whiteners. Have a google for people that have bought some cheeky_chops said:

Same product available in the Uk has 15% Carbamide Peroxide

Do you have a link for this legal limit, genuine question as I can’t figure it out from the regulation mentioned in the link below?

The relevant current legal provisions in the UK are contained within the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013 (commonly known as the EU Cosmetics Regulations). The policing and enforcement of these is under the remit of the Health and Safety Executive and Trading Standards Officers across the country.
The regulations permit preparations containing hydrogen peroxide, and other compounds or mixtures that release hydrogen peroxide (including carbamide peroxide and zinc peroxide), to be used for tooth whitening, with the maximum effective concentration of hydrogen peroxide allowed under the law being 6%.
A preparation that contains 10% carbamide peroxide will release 3.6% hydrogen peroxide. Commonly used products that contain up to 16% carbamide peroxide will therefore fall within the permitted range, as the level of hydrogen peroxide released will not exceed 6%.

Been looking at this recently myself tbh. My ex girlfriend had it done and hers looked a lot better afterwards.
10 months later and I'm about to take the plunge, got a consultation booked in with the dentist and will probably give it a go. I do have slightly sensitive teeth though, but previously the dentist has said just do it for a lesser period of time rather than overnight.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
