Tension headaches
Discussion
Has anyone experienced bad tension type headaches before? I don't really want to go to a gp or use the NHS where I don't have to for something that could be perfectly normal.
I'm getting headaches almost daily, right side of my head, neck pain, temple and behind eye sort of area. They're stopping me from working, in fact I've just left work early because I've had one. They're coming at any time, in bed in the morning, midday, and sometimes evening. They come with a bit of a temperature too, and when it's really bad I vomit which seems to cure it after half an hour or so. Had them for like 2 months. They normally come in September when I go back to uni, well they have for the last 2 years.
Should I get this checked out or just write it off as normal headaches?

I don't get many headaches normally but last weekend I picked up some sort of viral infection and also had the exact same symptoms you describe, throbbing tension headaches alternating between left and right..lasted for 4 days along with neck pain. I'm working from home but think my screen setup is not helping, add to that stress of doing long hours from home. It cleared up properly after about 5 days if say. I used usual painkillers and cold/flu tabs to help clear it..along with rest.

Had the same, tension headaches, but also dizziness and light headed at times. Finally diagnosed as stress! (Fairly stressful sales job), small dose of Amitriptyline daily and to be honest coupled with a daily workout all symptoms have been gone since. Go have a chat with your GP.
Can you remember what dose you were on?I've had this for getting on 12 months every day ...
