By all intents and purposes I haven't, but I am taking medication (for the last 4 months) that could potentially reduce my levels of vitamin D, so just to safeguard this I take Vitamin D tablets from Osteocare.

Are you on chemo ? I know radiation therapy reduces vitamin D levels.

I'm coming from a different angle.I've been diagnosed with very low levels of vitamin D and have been put on a high dosage for 7 weeks.

No thank goodness, do you know the cause?

Well given the 2 major sources are oily fish and sunlight..... I don't eat oily fish and haven't been abroad for 4 years.... that's more than likely why.
I thought taking omega 3 was covering that but clearly not.
If you Google the symptoms I've got most of them.

It was a full medical .. blood tests, MRI scan, Ultrasound, ECG, Eye test etc. I think it must have been the blood tests that showed it up.

A supplement in autumn/winter is a no brainer.
Or all year round if you’re an office worker.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1439229465

I think they’re about £1 for 90 from Morrison’s.

I don't think I have, but I supplement, since I read/watched ages ago that most Brits are vit d deficient.
It's just a daily thing now like eating.

The majority of British are vitamin D deficient in the winter. Studies suggest Vitamin D supplementation can also prevent/lessen minor infections.

Bit D 'insufficiency' (references vary but typically <32ng/ml) requires replenishment (higher doses than OTC supplements).

I'm of the opinion you have to be quite insufficient to be symptomatic. Rarely is there an underlying cause but things like coeliac or moderate IBS can cause it.

I think a Vit D supplement is recommended for the northern hemisphere in the winter.

I take a multi vitamin which includes it.

I went to the doc a few years ago feeling like I was getting shingles - lethargic, ached in my bones. I was exhausted. Turns out it was a significant vitamin D deficiency and I was put straight on a massive booster dose for a couple of months. I now continue to take 150μg daily and haven't had any issues since.

Surprising just how rotten vit.D deficiency can make you feel.

That's pretty much my experience.
Did you have any breathing issues ?
Mine started with an ache in my left lung area but has moved to the chest now.
Feel slightly better but only been on the pills for 10 days

Heard/knew about Vit D deficiency but never thought it affected me. i was just always bloody miserable over winter and assumed it was just the gloomy weather.
I eat oily fish, was an office worker until I retired in 2018. Have to avoid sun (useful living on West Coast Scotland) due to skin problems on baldy head and forehead with sun damage from open top cars. Already take Glucosamine and Fish Oil tablets due to knackered joints. Might look for additional Vit D as well
