Hair loss

Anyone experienced this?

I've noticed that my hair has suddenly become very thin and seems to have hardly grown in the 7 weeks since I had it cut last. This is bizarre for me, normally it's pretty thick and fast growing.

I'm 36. Has my great luck just suddenly run out or is it stress, and it'll be alright soon?

I'm 29 and my hair is thinning, though growth is fine. My maternal grandad went bald at an early age, think his genes are kicking in

Finesteride blocks the metabolism of Testosterone into DHT. If you have male pattern baldness, it stops you going bald. Go see your GP and ask to be referred to a dermatologist.

Some people don't manage 25.

A couple of months ago I noticed quite a few strands coming out whilst combing, although I think that was mainly due to tangles/sea swimming beforehand!

It's really weird. I've just looked at photos from the end of October, my last haircut and my hair hasn't changed at all... Hopefully just stress or travelling and my lovely mane will return. EEEEK

Have recently discovered it myself and I'm a good few years older than you. I've been adorning the buzzcut look for quite some years but it's never really suited the shape of my head imo. I decided a few months ago that I'd grow my hair back again . Much to my horror it grows fine down the sides, back and front, but simply will not grow at all on the top of my head and I have a tennis ball sized patch of baldness which looks pretty bad . Shaved it all off again and have gone back to the semi-bald look .

Have you looked in a mirror and held another mirror above your head to see the true horror of how bad it is? Mine looked fine until I did that .

I've been steadily going more and more bald since 18. I'm 25 and I have to put suncream on my bald patch now.

Wet shave or at the very least, 0 on the clippers is the way to go!

I was bald by 25, although I'd always hated my hair, it looked stupid regardless of what I did with it.

It's alarming the first time you're in the bathroom looking in the mirror with one of those overhead lights or wall lights and notice it shining through your thinning bonce. Mine is going, but not as quick as some. Not much you can do about it though - I won't be investing in a dodgy toupee or cultivating an increasingly elaborate comb-over, though the baldy look scares me too!

Yeah, fingers crossed I can hold onto the rest. I really don't suit short hairstyles and have sticky out ears so baldness scares me!

Do check in with your GP, really sudden hair loss sounds a bit weird although may just be one of those things where it's actually just the noticing that's the sudden bit.
