im currently at the gym 4 or 5 times a week, trying to build muscle. dont really need to bulk up im naturally quite big, but not fat. if you get me?

anyway, im taking this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190829453975?ssPageName=...

is there anything better for the price or a similar price? seems pretty unbeatable for the protein/£ but im not nutritionist.

Sorry, but I'd say you should sort your diet out before anything else. A supplement/powder is there to add additional macros if you're not getting enough from actual food.

But otherwise, I use MyProtein Whey Isolate.

You won't be needing to supplement it then.

As long as you get one that isn't full of added sugar they're all much the same. MP seems generally cheapest (look for impact whey protein or impact whey isolate).

why do you need power to make a drink as a substitute for real food? If you eat properly you don't need it. It's a multi billion dollar con

It does depend though, someone like me needing roughly 300g of protein is harder through food than someone half that - your average man

It's difficult to get all the protein you need from food when building mass - I.e 1 - 1.5g protein per pound of weight.

I think MP protein is too thin and watery. Prefer PHD

Get it if you want, treat it as a high protein food rather than a supp, just another protein in your diet. I don't know what the problem is, it's as real a food as most other stuff you eat, and it's easier to eat.

To consume protein in an easily digestible form straight after training. Can you name any real food which will do the same?

I myself use powder on an irregular basis- my point is you don't need it. The idea of immediate protein after work as muscles crave it is complete BS propagated by the sellers. I eat chicken in a meal after work out. Works for me.

No-one needs them. It's just another choice. Either from people buying the hype, or laziness, or mess.
I think Pink Sun looks the best at the moment.

All real food. biggrin

Even for big fellas it is very easy to get all the protein you need from real food.

Red meat is hardly easily digestible.
