I had 2 wisdom teeth out last Thursday, the healing was going ok for the first few days-I had the other side out a few months ago so had that to compare it to.
After a few days I got pain and a horrible taste in my mouth and the glands in my neck were swollen so I went back to the hospital and they said I had an infection-even though they said one of the teeth had an infection near it when removed, so they gave me some antibiotics and sent me home, their starting to work now.

Anyway I have felt a few times a sharpness with my tounge and on looking in the mirror there is some of the jaw bone exposed, prob about 3/4 of a cm wide and a mm or so deep, this isn't in the tooth socket but more to the side of it next to my tounge if that makes sense?, does this happen very often and will it heal up?, it isn't causing me any pain but doesn't feel that comfortable if you accidentally touch it with your tounge.

Perfectly normal and will heal up. I thought I still had a bit of jagged tooth left behind!

Should be fine, just wait fot it to heal. Sometimes there is some exposed bone, which usually works it way out on it's own, sometimes needs a little help.

Thanks, was beginning to worry there!!.
It does feel like it's loose if I wiggle the bone but it does hurt slightly if I do that, I am thinking about trying to pull it out though as it's beginning to really annoy me.

Honestly, leave it alone. If you're really worried, make an appointment to see your dentist.

I ended up doing this.
