Last night I went for a 20km run, I'd usually do around 15km. Around the 17km mark, I noticed the back of my head, neck and chest was itchy. For several hours after my skin was itchy all over. Was this a reaction to losing too much sweat? It seems better this morning, but still not right. Any ideas what caused it and how to prevent it? I went to the pub after (lime/soda) and it was commented on. Thanks!

Sometime I get similar on my face and eyelids when running. I think it's a reaction to sweat, when I wash it eases off.

Thanks for the reply, i think that makes sense as it was in the areas where you sweat the most. I must be the increased exposure due to higher distance.

Makes sense.

I don't get it everytime though, I can't really find a cause.

Just hack it.

Sweat burn by the sound of it? Cold flannel should help a lot. My dad gets it quite badly sometimes - looks sore!

Yeah sounds like I'll just put up with it. It was annoying, but not terrible. I just wanted to check it is common which it sounds like it is.
