laser eye surgery

i am after a bit of advice, i am having laser surgery on my eye this week, and i wondered if anyone knew how quick you could go back to normal things.

the reason i ask is i have just realised that its on the same day as my football training and wondered if i could go.

sad i know, but its one of my me times and i am also trying to get fitter for my summer hols.

can't tell you what i am having done as i can't remember (sounds like a foreign language to me).

any rough estimates, operation is 9:15am and footy is 8pm.

If its the procedure where they cut your outer retina to do the laser stuff, then no, you wont be playing football same day.

Would suggest you probably wont be up to driving either.


Had it done 8 years ago, best money spent, ever.

its not an operation to correct a sight problem, its to stop something becoming an issue in the future, no cutting involved (chuffing hope not can't stand stuff near my eyes the tests are bad enough, they reckon less than an hour) was picked up on my diabetic eye test , but not related to diabetes

Why not phone the people doing the operation? I had mine done a few years ago (cutting flap on eyeball) and I was able to see perfectly a couple of hours later, but was told to avoid vigorous exercise for a couple of weeks.

I'd suggest not playing for at least a few days. The chances of a ball in the face could cause serious issues, is it worth taking the chance?
