Vitamins? Expensive Branded, or In-Expensive Store Brand????

Hi. I've just bought some Multi Vitamins from my local Supermarket. They are their own brand, which I assume will have been manufactured by a Pharmacutical Company somewhere. They were on the shelf next to some of, as far as I could tell, the exact same thing, but by larger, better known Pharmacutical Companies. Would I be wrong in thinking that they are the same thing, after reading the labels, but even in a product like this I would pay for the name???

In what way are they a "Mugs Game" as you so put it? I thought they were a good way to supplement any shortfall in an unbalanced diet?

They are a good way to supplement a short fall in unbalanced diet. So is a balanced diet. It's a mugs game because they're so massively overpriced, they're marketed in a way which preys on mugs, for the large part getting it from food has far more benefit than getting it out of a bottle, and the fact that excess of certain ones (often found in multivits) can actually do more harm than good.

I wasn't sniping at your choice to use vitamins BTW, apologies if my first post came across that way, and of course, there's no shortage of 'valid' reasons to take supplements

I don't normally bother with supplements, as I usually have
a very well balanced diet. I am working away from home just now,
and getting decent food at our site is pretty impossible! I was
buying toiletries and noticed the Vitamins, the ones I bought
were £4 so no big deal, I just thought I'd try and supplement
my somewhat poor diet for the next 5 weeks!

It does seem apparent that even with this type of product you
pay for a name!

But, as I originally asked, will my £4 multi-vitamins be the same
as the £12 multi-vitamins sat on the same shelf? The contents
certainly read to me like they are the same product, but maybe
quality would be different??
